Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Given the nature of the Internet, Search Engines and the way in which each determines the order that any given website or web page will be ranked according to a specific search word or phrase, it is impossible for anyone to guarantee high rankings or 'successful rankings' for any website. Anyone who does is either foolish or plain dishonest.

Search Engines use extremely complicated algorithms to calculate their interpretation of the suitability of web pages to display when a search is requested. These algorithms are not known to anyone outside of the Search Engine's highest echelons and cannot accurately be predicted or foreseen, as they are also regularly changed or adjusted. The Search Engines do provide some insight into the more important aspects of a website to concentrate on, in a broad sense, to make the website more "Search Engine Friendly" but there is nothing specific other than these broad 'instructions'.

However, with much experience, some common sense, application of agreed standard practice, innovation and insights which have been gained by those who have been involved with the Internet, especially within the SEO, Web Design and Website Building specialties, much can be done to increase the chances that a given website will perform well and gain respectable (or even excellent) Search Engine rankings.

Each search engine will display some different results and some the same as the others, again, there is no way to tell as they have their own way of arriving at these rankings. Also there is much 'sharing' of the results of each search made. Some smaller Search Engines will get some of their results from one of the larger engines and so it goes round creating very much of a 'web' of intermingled results hence, say... the top ten rankings in ten different popular Search Engines, may show a mix of common and uncommon results to a given search.

With the above in mind, we can say that we use all the experience and knowledge at our disposal when first designing and building a website. Likewise, when performing SEO services in an 'existing website' situation, as with our "Website Minder" package. However, as much as we feel that our methods are as effective, if not more effective than those used by other designers and SEO specialists, we cannot guarantee or promise more than the fact that our work and our methods, through past experience and provable results can give your website the best chance, and we believe, a greater possibility for ranking well in the Search Engine results of the targeted keywords or phrases pertaining to your particular website.

Further, as the text content of a website or web page is known to be one of the very important components of the Search Engine  algorithms, as advised by the Search Engines themselves, we can find ourselves restrained in the level of optimisation we can perform as the text that the client wishes to include may not offer as great an opportunity for optimisation. Being more knowledgeable about their industry and generally knowing what it is they wish to convey, the client is certainly the best person to supply the text to be included however, we believe best rankings can be achieved when we are able to help guide towards a more 'search engine friendly' version of any text used, with approval, of course.
